About the KVMA Foundation
"The KVMA Foundation is committed to improving the profession of veterinary medicine by educating the public and developing future leaders in the animal industry through financial assistance.”
The primary goals of the KVMA Foundation are:
To participate in the KVMA Foundation Sympathy Card Program, veterinarians can download the multiple donation form and mail with payment to the KVMA. For each $10 donation, the KVMA Foundation sends the client a personalized sympathy card on the veterinarian’s behalf. By making a donation to the Foundation as a memorial gift to their clients’ pets, veterinarians can express their sympathy and build lasting client relationships.
Since 1999, the Foundation has awarded more than $70,000 in grants and more than $50,000 has been sent to veterinary organizations and practices involved in emergency relief efforts. The Foundation also provides funding for "white coats” for the annual White Coat Ceremonies at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in addition to grants to all first year Kentucky veterinary students.
Fundraising opportunities have been through the annual KVMA Foundation Auction during the KVMA Mid-America Veterinary Conference generating over $85,000 since 1999 and the Sympathy Card Program generating over $42,000. In 2013, the First Annual KVMA Foundation Sporting Clay Shoot at Elk Creek Hunt Club and Winery was held with more than 60 veterinarians, industry representatives, and guests enjoying a day of shooting sporting clays, boasting, and fellowship. This fundraising event was graciously sponsored by Elanco Animal Health, Merial Animal Health, and Henry Schein Animal Health. Also providing support as shooting station sponsors were; Vetri Science Laboratories, Neogen Corporation, Midwest Veterinary Supply, Patterson Veterinary, Boehringer Ingleheim, and Henry Schein Animal Health. This unique fun-filled event successfully raised over $5,300.00 for the KVMA Foundation.
